LYRA started with a simple idea: modest swimwear should be easy and look stunning.
Our founder, a modest dresser who loves the outdoors, was tired of uncomfortable, impractical options that didn’t align with her style or values. So, she spent months designing and creating swimwear that blends modesty, elegance, and functionality seamlessly.
Ikram, created the Sofia, which launched at the end of 2016. The response was overwhelming, and it quickly became clear that this was more than just a project - it was the beginning of something much bigger.
From Sketches, to a Family-run London Design House
As LYRA grew, so did the ambition behind it. Family jumped in to help bring the bigger mission to life. A skilled designer was brought on board, and the creative process moved to a design house in London. What started as a single woman’s mission evolved into a family run effort to redefine modestwear, starting with swim.
Every piece is crafted with the same ruthless attention to detail and high standards that made the original swimsuits a cult classic-loved, recognised, and even imitated by many.
